August 31, 2011Irene Blows Through Stow -by Nancy Arsenault By the time Hurricane Irene landed in Stow on Sunday, it was a Tropical Storm. For some residents, its affects were substantial. For most of the town, it offered a chance to hunker down and tend to domestic chores, watching the storm unfold on television, as long as power wasn’t lost. Schools Open in Nashoba District-by Nancy Arsenault Stow’s First Day of School appeared to go off with only some very minor glitches involving transportation, according to local school officials. One bus route hit a snag on Taylor Road Tuesday morning when a portion of that road was still closed from Sunday’s storm.
